Extended Faith, 3: Trust God for Direction

“Go to the land I will show you…” Imagine that being the result of a MapQuest search! “Sorry. I know what you wanted was the step by step instructions with pictures on the side and a full color map showing point A & B and how you’re going to get from one to the other. Instead, just trust me.” This was exactly, pre-mapquest, the scenario for Abram. God had a destination and a destiny for Abram, to do more than he could have ever imagined.

Perhaps that has a lot to do with why God doesn’t give us more information than He does. He knows that it’s more than we could even imagine. If we knew all that He knew, we’d be so overwhelmed at the seeming impossibility that we might never get out of neutral and move forward. It’s a fact that God already has an incredible destination all mapped out and ready for your travels. Trust Him. Stay close to Him. Even with a trip like we are taking together, there will be a lot of unknowns, uncertainties, and needs for flexibility. Trust God. He knows. He’s leading.
