A Quiet Mind

"The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save.  he will take great delight in you.  He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17).

Have you ever had one of those days that was filled with such a variety of stresses, struggles, conflicts, and situations it felt like more like an overstuffed Stromboli that's unable to contain all that's inside?  You go to bed at night, physically tired, but your mind is racing faster than Lance Armstrong on the last mile of the Tour de France.

Even in the midst of trial and turmoil, God is with those who are faithful to Him.  What a great reminder during those times, God's power, favor, His peace, and His love is very much still with us.  When we begin to change our focus from what has overtaken our day to He who has created our day and has a purpose for our tomorrow, realizing that it is He who holds us in the palm of His strong, capable, and tireless hands, we can rest.

There are times when your mind feels stretched and stressed and races at high speeds, yet goes nowhere at least no where good.  However, that it your opportunity to remember the love of God is more than enough to quiet your mind.  Let it remind you to be still and to know and remember that He is, always has been, and always will be God.  He is in control.  When you grab hold of that truth, and apply it, your mind, no matter what you're facing, will be have quiet, peaceful rest.
