"Therefore, since Christ suffered in His body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whosoever suffers in the body is done with sin" (1 Peter 4:1).
There are some days when pushing through is the furthest thing from our mind. When it get's tough, why keep going? Why continue to push on when you don't think there will be any change?
Jesus could have given in to the pressure of His struggle. He faced hunger. He faced temptation. He faced rejection and betrayal. He faced weariness and anxiety. He could have surrendered to any of these physical or emotional obstacles. But instead, He depended upon the strength of the Father, and persevered victoriously. We are to have that same attitude of dependence and perseverance.
The fact is, we are going to experience seasons of suffering. In basic training, it was often said that "pain is nothing more than weakness leaving the body." Each day, we have the choice not give into the physical, emotional or spiritual pains that I experience in our day to day life.
Choose to use those tough seasons as reminders to depend upon His strength and persevere in the victory He has already ordered.
