"At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there" (John 8:9).
This woman had been caught in an act that was illegal, immoral, and indecent, and grossly unethical. She stood condemned on the spot in an open court of public opinion. This jury of biased and hypocritical peers were about to carry out her sentence of death until Jesus stepped in. He stood up for her. He spoke for her. He stayed when everyone else had turned and walked away. She didn't deserve His presence, but Jesus showed her a love in that moment that she had never been able to find on her own. When the last one of her accusers had left, Jesus was still with her. She was not alone.
You are not alone. You may "feel" alone. But, you are not alone. You don't stand alone. You don't cry alone. Jesus is always there with you. When other turn away, and they will, He remains. When public opinion is unfairly bent against you, Jesus stands up, speaks up, and stays up with you. He's not intimidated. And, with Him on your side, neither do you need to or have to be! He longs to be your Lord and the Light of your salvation. Whom shall you fear or be afraid of? No one and nothing!
Surrender every hurt, every fear, and every failure to Him. Don't worry about the opinions of others. There is not one of us that is without sin. The sins we hold against each other, in like measure, will be held against us. We are ALL in need of Savior! Allow Him to free you today, to release you from the bondage of what everyone else thinks. When it's all said and done, where are they? They are gone. They can't stand blameless in the presence of Jesus. They've all released their stones of judgment and walked away. But Jesus is still there. Trust Him with it! He's right there with you!
