"And whenever the unclean spirits saw Him, they fell down before Him and cried out, 'You are the Son of God!'" (Mark 3:11).
Sometimes I wonder how often I get so lost in my own world of "everything I think I need to do," that I miss the bigger picture of just loving Jesus.
In this verse in Mark, Jesus is doing what He came to do. He's healing, restoring, and liberating those who desire to be free. Here, even the evil spirits succumb to the power of the presence of God. They recognized His presence, responded to Hi power, and raised their voice in proclamation of who He is.
Even the evil spirits! We must be choosing to live in a way that does more to honor God than do the evil spirits. It leads us to ask the question about whether or not our eyes are wide open, or are we living in a state of spiritual blindness...even as believers! I find myself checking my own spiritual temperature by asking questions that relate to this passage:
Do I recognize His presence? How do I respond to His power?Am I raising my voice to proclaim who He is?
Here is a prayer that I have found myself praying more and more. Maybe not the exact words, but a heart cry that sounds something like this: "Thank You, Jesus, for YOU being in my life. I do acknowledge Your presence and desire Your intimacy in my life. Help me to live the life You have called me to live, as I choose to declare the goodness of God all the days of my life! Amen."
