This last week has been a major undertaking for me. You ever had one of those? You know what I'm talking about, don't you? Where you have a lot of things to do that you've never done before, and you feel like a little child who doesn't know his way around? Yes, last week was one of THOSE weeks. I'm still in my first year of being the senior pastor of an awesome church. First of all, 30 and senior just don't seem to go together...but, that's a different blog altogether. This past Sunday was our first annual business meeting since I became pastor. Ok, I've sat in them before in previous churches, but I've never run them. And quite frankly, I haven't always paid attention a hundred percent of the time.

Anway, there was one point last week that I got so overwhelmed that I walked outside and just started talking to God. Yes, I talk to Him inside, too, but there just seems to be something extra special about talking to the Creator of the Universe while being surrounded by His creation...and at night! I said, "God, sometimes I miss the days when I wasn't in charge." I heard Him speak so directly to my heart, "who says you have to be now? I thought I was." It sure is something when God speaks!

It just reminded me that sometimes we put on ourselves MORE pressure than He ever intended. He's God. He's Jesus. He's the King. He's Everything. He calls us to do more than we can do on our own. My youth pastor spoke this Sunday, and he said something that really hit home. He said, "If we can do everything that God has called us to do, then we don't need God. But, we CAN'T do everything...alone. We need Him!" Amen!
